In 2013, the GLM 100 C Professional was the first laser measure from Bosch to make an important task easier for tradespeople by connecting the tool with an app, enabling them to dimension and document jobsites using the measurement camera app. Bosch has developed the system further and is now also offering the GLM floor plan app for tablet PCs. Tradespeople and planners can use it to quickly and easily draw floor plans digitally on a scale of 1:50 instead of using a pencil and paper. It can also be used to import existing plans – for example to check if they are correct. Work results can be saved as a PDF and sent directly from the jobsite by e-mail. The GLM floor plan app therefore makes all the required information immediately available anytime and anywhere.
Optimized workflows due to connection via Bluetooth
Data is synchronized between the app and the GLM 100 C Professional by means of the integrated Bluetooth interface in the laser measure. Measuring results can therefore be transferred quickly and easily to a tablet PC and processed using the app's versatile functions. This eliminates the risk of errors resulting from manual transfer. Digitalization of the floor plans enables project data to be captured faster and information to be exchanged more easily, which saves workmates, bosses and contractors precious time. The GLM floor plan app is also fully functional without a connection to the GLM 100 C Professional. The only difference is that a measured value will then not be automatically assigned to the selected object and transferred into the measurement chain, rather it has to be entered via the user interface of the tablet.

Easy project management and editing of floor plans
All of a project's data – from the customer's address through to the required plans from cellar to attic – can be stored and managed in purpose-created folders. This enables the user to always keep track of everything, even if he has a large number of jobs to manage. Floor plans are quick and easy to draw in the GLM floor plan app using the line, square or polygon tool. There are two modes for editing: floor plan mode and wall view mode. All walls are drawn in floor plan mode. In wall view mode, the individual walls are viewed vertically and building components such as doors and windows can be added. They are subsequently also shown in floor plan mode. The length of a drawn wall is automatically adapted by a measurement taken with the GLM 100 C Professional. Once a floor plan has been imported by the common file formats jpeg, bmp, gif or png, a reference measurement taken with the tool is used to adapt the floor plan proportionally to a scale of 1:50. It can then be quickly and easily traced and re-dimensioned in the GLM floor plan app.

Clearly arranged navigation and additional functions that make work easier
The GLM floor plan app is designed for plans up to DIN A0. It is easy to use and very clearly arranged. For example, the integrated navigation function shows the current position in the plan at all times, which is helpful when editing large, complex floor plans. Moreover, important tasks and dates can be entered and digital memos can be made in order to position them precisely where you want them in the plan. When the floor plan is finished, you can save it as a PDF – and the scale is always adapted so that the entire plan fits on a DIN A4 page. The PDF can be sent as an e-mail directly from the app using the export function. This enables people to also work together over great distances: the workmate, boss or contractor is no longer forced to go to the jobsite to assess something. Instead he can conveniently decide what to do by looking at the digital floor plan.
